Edwin is a Creative Producer and Editor based in San Diego, California. He holds a bachelors degree in Visual Arts Media from the University of California San Diego (UCSD). In 2014 he co-founded Buenpaso Media, an independent production house based in Southern California. In 2016, he was selected by NeXtDoc YouthFX as an Emerging Documentary Filmmaker. In 2017 he resided in Salzburg, Austria where he worked along side Salzburg Global Seminar as a creative producer. Upon returning to the United States he served as the Lead Video Editor for The American Dream show featured on networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and The CW. As of 2020 he is the Creative Director of Standard Conversions, a digital marketing agency.
As Creative Producer and Editor he is responsible for guiding multiple media projects from pre-production, to production, and post production. These type of projects include short films, feature length films, news segments, televised shows, advertisements for social media, promos as well as commercial/client based projects. His experience covers a wide range of genres and technical processes.

The independent film, “Letters from Our Elders,” by the Buenpaso Collective, seeks to connect the story of the director’s grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, with stories of today’s immigrants.

Edwin Cruz was born in San Diego, California and raised in Acapulco, Mexico for several years before returning to the United States. In pursuit of bringing awareness of contemporary social issues he engaged in filmmaking.
